The Czechoslovakia Revolt started when Czechoslovakia decided to focus on industrial enhancements other than agriculture. This turned out to be a large failure for them because of their planning and that they did not produce any high quality goods. They were in a bad economic problem and their President, Antonin Novotny, was beginning to lose popularity, (Just like Bush when he put us deeper in a recession). Nobody would support him so on March 22, 1968, he stepped down from office.
The new president was Alexander Dubcek, obviously he was going to have to do something about the recession Antonin put the country into. So instead of a communist sort of government, he was trying to create more of a socialist democracy, but had a lot of interferences, including the revolt that destroyed them.
In August 1968, the Soviet Union led an invasion to destroy Czechoslovakia, they led the invasion with the Warsaw pact and imprisoned all of the free people in the country. People rioted and did whatever they could, but it was smothered with the return of the communist system. On August 20th they sent troops and tanks in the country and killed 72 people, injuring hundreds.
