The Vietnam War was a very horrible war. Over 58,000 U.S. Soldiers lives were taken during this war. On November 3, 1969 President Nixon addressed our nation about it. He tells the people of the nation about our amount of lost casualties, our involvement of the war and how we are going to try and stop it. In 1965 we sent over 200,000 to the southern part of Vietnam. While we were funding the South Vietnamese Army the Chinese Army and the USSR were funding the Viet Cong. This made it very hard for us to compete in this war because it was us the United States against two very strong Militaries. They were stronger then us as a military and combined they had a lot more money then us to fund for weapons, artillery and many other funds.
